Postdoctoral Researcher
Salzwedel

Robert is a Postdoctoral Researcher with the Carbon Management Team, a division of the Integrated Assessment Model Group. His work focusses on Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) and Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU). As a member of the Novo Nordisk CO₂ Research Center (CORC), he models carbon capture and conversion processes. He also investigates supply-side aspects of residual hydrocarbon demand, with a particular focus on biomass and bioenergy pathways.

Robert studied Physics at the Technische Universität Berlin, with research stays at the University of California, Santa Barbara and Queen's University, Kingston, ON, Canada.

In his Bachelor studies, he conducted research in the field on Quantum Gravity, focussing on Phase Transitions of Black Holes as part of the AdS/CFT correspondence. In both his Master and PhD thesis, he investigated and theoretically modelled quantum nanomaterials, e.g. 2D Materials and Plasmonic Nanoparticles, and described their interaction with light.
