Dr. Sreeja Jaiswal

Postdoctoral Researcher
Sreeja is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Climate Economics and Policy Research Department. In her research, she fuses knowledge and insights from political science and economics with her training in development studies for a more inclusive means of examining questions of relevance for sustainable and low-carbon development.
Two central themes guide her research: First, examining climate change politics and policy from the perspective of equity and climate justice. Second, the empirical assessment of policy instruments and interventions for sustainable development using econometric tools for understanding their socio-economic and environmental impacts. Her most recent work evaluated India’s integrated conservation and development strategy for managing protected areas on the dynamics of labour force participation.
Previously, she was at the Alfred Weber Institute for Economics at the University of Heidelberg as a Humboldt Foundation’s International Climate Protection Fellow. Sreeja has a PhD in Development Studies from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai.
