Shafinaz is currently pursuing her doctoral degree at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin. She joined the Climate Change and Health Working Group at PIK in November 2020 as a guest researcher. She investigates the role of behavior change intervention in improving food hygiene practices and reducing infections, as part of the Food and Agricultural Approaches to Reducing Malnutrition (FAARM) trial in Sylhet, Bangladesh. Shafinaz holds a MSc in Nutrition for Global Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UK, and a Master in Public Health from the James P Grant School of Public Health, BRAC University, Bangladesh. Her research interests include behavior change interventions, maternal and child nutrition, climate impacts on health and program evaluation.
