Laurin Köhler-Schindler has been a postdoctoral researcher in Research Department 3 (Transformation Pathways) since March 2024. He is a member of the Integrated Assessment Modelling team and an active developer of the REMIND model. Within the Scenario Model Intercomparison Project (ScenarioMIP) for CMIP7, he coordinates the scenario development using the Potsdam Integrated Assessment Modelling framework. His research encompasses the interface between Integrated Assessment Models and Earth System Models, international climate policy in the REMIND model as well as public budgets and fiscal pressure in the context of sustainability transitions.

He is a mathematician by training and previously completed his doctorate in the Probability Theory Group at ETH Zurich under the supervision of Vincent Tassion, where he studied phase transitions and critical phenomena in percolation models and in spin models from statistical mechanics.
