I investigate and monitor the stability of tropical forests under climate change. In the field of tipping research, remote sensing is a key source of spatiotemporal data. From those data sets, resilience estimators which are based on dynamical systems theory, can be calculated and used to assess resilience change. In my work, I focus on enhancing the robustness of resilience estimations by mainly two approaches: first, using spatial resilience estimators that exploit the dimensionality of the data, and second, by investigating suitable combinations of data sets and resilience estimators.
