Johanna Hoppe joined the "Energy Systems" group at PIK as a doctoral researcher in August 2021. The focus of her work is on transformation pathways for the transport sector in Germany and Europe. To this end, she is further developing the EDGE-T transport model.
She holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with a focus on energy and process engineering and a master's degree in electromobility with a focus on energy storage and infrastructure from TU Braunschweig. In addition to her studies, she worked in battery modeling and in the sustainability department of the brand Volkswagen Passenger Cars. For her master's thesis, she conducted research on lithium-sulfur batteries at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology.
