Fabio Ascione holds a master’s degree in economics at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU) and received a PhD in economics from the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne. Previously, he worked as a Junior Policy Analyst at the OECD in Paris and as a research associate at the Netherlands Bureau of Economic Policy Analysis in The Hague. His research focuses mainly on empirical industrial and macroeconomic dynamics from a distributional, environmental and European perspective with a methodological emphasis on quantitative empirical methods of data analysis, econometrics and input-output analysis. At the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK), he is working at the FutureLab Social Metabolism and Impacts on the accounting and analysis of greenhouse gas emissions of the German tourism industry.
