Christopher Leisinger works as Deputy Head of the Policy Unit and Policy Advisor to Ottmar Edenhofer in the Institute’s Executive Staff. His primary focus is on EU climate policy, bringing scientific research into policy discussions at both European and national levels. Christopher supports Ottmar Edenhofer in his capacity as Chair of the European Scientific Advisory Board on Climate Change (ESABCC).

Christopher joined the Potsdam Institute in 2022. Prior to this, he was a Research Fellow at Forum Ökologisch-Soziale Marktwirtschaft and gained professional experience at the European Commission (DG CLIMA), the ifo Institute for Economic Research, and as a Research Assistant at the Chair of Public Economics at Technische Universität Dresden. He studied Economics at Technische Universität Dresden and the Norwegian School of Economics.
