Pichler

Peter-Paul Pichler, PhD, was trained as a computer scientist and received his doctorate in the field of complex adaptive systems. He has been working at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research in various research domains since 2009 and is currently deputy leader of the FutureLab Social Metabolism and Impacts. As a social ecologist, he assesses and analyzes various aspects of societal resource use. His current research focuses on the economic, spatial and sectoral distribution of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, for example in international health systems. He is particularly interested in the physical and political conditions that enable prosperity for all within planetary boundaries through deep democratic socio-ecological transformation.
