Dr Sabine Undorf

Postdoctoral Researcher
Undorf

Sabine Undorf is a climate scientist, PostDoc at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) in the research department Climate Resilience. She is interested in the identification and quantification of drivers of observed historical and future climate change and their impacts, both globally and on regional scales, including long-term changes and extreme events (attribution). Her work at PIK focuses specifically on attributing climate impacts in agriculture in an interdisciplinary team. She further works on the role of aerosols and aerosol-cloud interactions for climate-model uncertainty as relevant for attribution and projections, as well as on what this uncertainty means for the identification and communication of climate risks for adaptation, which includes close collaboration with philosophers of science on how choices in climate research can, do, and should or should not be guided by social values. Sabine holds a PhD in atmospheric and environmental sciences from the University of Edinburgh and a MSc and BSc in Physics from the University of Bonn.
