Maik Billing

Maik Billing is a Researcher in the Working Group on Ecosystems in Transition. He works on disentangling the relations between functional diversity, plant traits, ecosystem functions and their effect on forest stability. In another part of his reasearch he focusses on the influence of vegetation and land-use on wildfires in Europe.

In his research, he combines process-based models, machine learning and statistics - and enjoys using 3D software (Blender, UE5) to make his findings more tangible to others.
