Forestry.
The emphasis of this thematic complex is the analysis of climate impacts on forest eco-systems in the north-eastern area of Germany. The CIR includes information about records which describe the relation between the productivity and growth of forests and tree varieties under specific climatic conditions. Based on the sensitivity of forest eco systems to climate changes general relations are pronounced. Additionally the CIR includes statements about harmful organisms (for example Lymantria monacha (Linnaeus)) and abiotic stress factors like storms, late frosts and drought.
Forest ecosystems are set up as long-term based land-use of humans. Therefore possible impacts of climate change are already today relevant for forest-related decision making. The search for literature was focused on the years before the current scientific discourse. The collection may enrich the thinking in the actual scientific discussion based on of already evident knowledge.
