Integrating remote sensing and mixed social science methods for studying climate impact & adaptation in tropical agroecosystems

The climate risk study for Ghana’s agriculture sector conducted within the Agrica and the GIZ_Ghana project analyses the impact chain from changing climate condition, to crop yields, in order to create a sound science base for identifying suitable adaptation strategies. Based on the climate risk analysis, selected adaptation strategies should be assessed on a district level using both biophysical and economic models, as well as considering socio-economic and institutional indicators. The findings and recommendations of the study should inform national policy processes in the field of climate change adaptation and provide a comprehensive evidence base for decision-making.
