Challenges of Global Agriculture in a Climate Change context. Subcontract - Processing of crop model results as input to IPRs model development and scenario analysis
The general purpose of this project is to conduct an analysis of the global impacts of climate change on agricultural production, prices, trade, consumption and potential for emission mitigation/adaptation strategies. For this purpose it will cover selected combinations of
Shared Socioeconomic Pathways (SSP) and Representative Concentration Pathways (RCP).
The main drivers behind SSP should be based on the recent work done by the Integrated Assessment Modelling Community (IAMC) for the fifth assessment report (AR5) of the
Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC, 2014). Model outputs based on different SSP/RCP combinations will constitute a new set of global Representative Agricultural
Pathways (RAP).
PIK will process information on productivity changes coming from the global climate and crop growth models for the different modelling teams and will develop adaptation
scenarios.
