Reußwig focuses his research as a sociologist at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact on questions of urban transformation. In addition to him, other members of the broad-based panel include Ariane Walz from the University of Potsdam, Andreas Rieger from the Brandenburg Chamber of Architects and Daniela Setton from the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS), also based in Potsdam. For the first time, representatives of the "Fridays for Future" movement will also take part in the meetings of the Potsdam Climate Council to represent the younger generation.
In the past, Reußwig has already advised and supported the Brandenburg state capital with his professional expertise in climate protection. Among other things, he has contributed to the Potsdam "Master Plan 100% Climate Protection 2050", which aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 95 percent by 2050, and the demand for final energy by 50 percent compared to 1990.
