"The changes our society is confronted with do not take place within given structures, but are ruptures of the familiar. They do not happen gradually, but at high speed. They cannot be answered with political routines, but require new thinking," said the Federal President in his opening speech. The new series of talks will look at different aspects of the transformation - opportunities and challenges, for example, through the use of artificial intelligence, the work of the future and the global dimension of climate change. The idea is to discuss how concern for the future can become joint provision for the future.
Under the title "Towards a climate-neutral economy. A new industrial revolution?", the Federal President discussed the challenges of the energy transition with his panel guests, focusing on business and industry. "The transformation is such an enormously complex task, in which we are setting in motion a socially and politically induced structural change that has no historical precedent in the entire history of industry," Edenhofer said. "One of the fundamental tasks, therefore, is for politicians to come up with a credible voluntary commitment and thus create trust. Governments and states are not the only, but fundamental actors on the path to climate neutrality".
