The Leibniz Association connects 88 independent research institutions that range in focus from the natural, engineering and environmental sciences via economics, spatial and social sciences to the humanities. Among them are well-known institutes like the German institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin), the Berlin Social Science Center WZB or the Senckenberg Research Institutes and Natural History Museums. On the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the death of the polymath Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, the Leibniz Association hosts a special year: Themed “the best of all possible worlds” the Association celebrates the diversity of their member institutes with special events and exhibitions.
