From the 4th to the 15th of July the workshop on hydrological modelling (‘PIK Hydromodelling 2022’) has been conducted in Potsdam. The representatives from research institutions and hydrometers of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan were participating in the two weeks event at PIK.
The program of the workshop was dedicated to hydrological modelling, and climate impact assessment and covered different aspects of modelling, data processing and data analysis with a focus on the Central Asian region. During the workshop participants learned how to work with the Soil and Water Integrated Model, downloaded and manipulated climate scenarios and applied different visualization techniques.
In addition, the workshop was a good opportunity to summarize the results of the remote collaboration on hydrological modelling for the last year. New results, obtained during the practical exercises, will be developed further and submitted to one of the scientific journals by the end of the year.
