08/12/2022 - Svenja Fluhrer, Julian Röckert, Kati Krähnert, and Lukas Mogge from the FutureLab on "Inequality, Human Well-Being and Development" organized a side event entitled "Anticipatory Action Meets Evidence: Generating Scientific Evidence on the Effectiveness of a Forecast-Based Cash Transfer Program".
The 10th Global Dialogue Platform on Anticipatory Humanitarian Action took place between 6-8 December 2022 in Berlin/hybrid. The annual platform is a key global event that brings together humanitarian stakeholders.
The FutureLab team organized a side event and delivered a presentation on the aims, methods, and limitations of rigorous impact evaluation of anticipatory humanitarian programs implemented in the context of extreme weather events. At the session's core was the empirical, scientific impact evaluation of a forecast-based cash transfer program in Mongolia that the FutureLab currently carries out. The audience consisted of stakeholders from German and international organizations in the field of humanitarian assistance.
