Toward a new global climate regime: scientists present options at COP19
On November 20, 2013, Ottmar Edenhofer, Director of the MCC and Chief Economist at PIK, Robert N. Stavins of the Harvard Project on Climate Agreements and Andreas Löschel of the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) presented research findings on the possibilities for building a hybrid and multi-level global climate regime. The results were presented in Framework of the 19th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC (COP19) in Warsaw.

Most of the research findings were drawn from a two-day workshop held jointly by the Harvard Project on Climate Agreements and the MCC in Berlin last May. The workshop was attended by thirty leading international researchers, decision makers and climate negotiators who came to identify and discuss options for a new international climate regime based on the Durban Platform for Enhanced Action.
The results have been summarized in a joint issue brief.
