EPICC Project Lead, Dr. Kira Vinke, delivered a presentation on climate change and its link to migration. She states that if the current level of emissions remains, the internal migration in such regions as Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America South Asia will reach 140 million people. Such migration patterns are attributed to the increasing temperatures and factors other than changing climatic conditions, which push the limits of habitability in threatened regions. Further, Dr. Vinke brings into discussion the issues of climate justice, global emissions reductions and natural climate solutions. [...]
