TERI is an an independent research institute, specializing in research and policy design in the fields of energy, environment and sustainable development. Since the beginning of the project in 2018, TERI has been instrumental in organizing stakeholder exchange and realizing important project indicators in India – in accordance with B-EPICC’s overall aim of bridging the gap between climate research and policy, corporate, and societal decisions.
Santosh Kumar Muriki and K. Venkatramana intend to understand dynamical and thermodynamic features of precipitation extremes over India. Their goal is to comprehend changes in these processes over the Indian subcontinent in a warming climate. This knowledge not only aids in enhancing model efficacy and forecasting skills, but also in designing regional planning and disaster risk reduction strategies. During their visit, Santosh and Venkat plan to present their findings to PIK researchers in order to receive feedback. They will also use their stay to discuss the communication and dissemination of project results in India as the B-EPICC project is coming to end at the end of 2023.
