As Ethiopia is a partner country to the B-EPICC project, the B-EPICC team organized a workshop to further collaborate and exchange knowledge on how to strengthen resilience against climate change. One topic the project attaches particular importance to is agriculture. In order to gain valuable insights into local research capabilities in agricultural research, the participants of the workshop were invited to visit the Debre Zeit Agricultural Research Center (DZARC) in Bishoftu. This Center is one of the oldest and largest agricultural research systems in Africa. On site, Director Dr Dagne Mojo and his team warmly welcomed the group and took us for an exciting tour to the National Tef Research Program. We did not only have the chance to learn more about livestock research in the Center’s cowsheds, but also met some familiar faces: Holstein-Friesian dairy cows.
Thank you kindly for having us!
