Archives at PIK

The tape library is ideal for long term archiving service. Infact archive data on tapes can be kept for decades without waste of electricity.Copies will be also kept inside safes,in order to protect data from any disaster (fire or flooding in the server room). However not all archives are kept forever,infact personal archives will be only kept for a limited time if the user does leave the PIK institute.(see Personal archives subfolder)[log-in required].

Project archives

IT-services does provide an archive service for data stored on the hpc-system. This folder does contain all resources about creating archives there and information about the policy in placed for those kind of archives [log-in required].

Personal computer and laptops

IT-services provide a personal archive service for your local data on your laptop/personal computer. This folder does contain all resources about creating personal archives and information about the archive policy in place at PIK institute [log-in required].
