Biosketch
Biologist (plant ecologist) and protestant theologian. Pastor of the Reformed Church of France. Born in 1955 in Zweibrücken (Palatinate, Germany). Studied at Hamburg, Göttingen, Grenoble, Strasbourg, Nancy-Besancon and Hohenheim, Germany (doctorate in plant ecology). Parish minister in Besancon, France (1982-87). Director of the Swiss Ecumenical Community Church and Environment, Bern, and assistant in systematic theology at Neuchâtel University (1987-92). Plant ecologist in a private office for ecological studies at Besancon (1992-93). Director of studies (ecology and urban development) at the Evangelische Akademie Berlin-Brandenburg (1993-1999). Member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Agence Nationale pour la Gestion des Déchets Radioactifs, France (1994-99). Parish minister of the French speaking Protestant Community of Berlin (1994-2001). Teacher of protestant religion in secondary schools at Berlin (1999). Publications on plant ecology and vegetation science (especially water plants), ecotheology and bioethics.
