Austria (masters project: development and test of a new electronic diffusion
porometer)
- 1973-1977 Ph.D. University of Innsbruck with W. Larcher
as part of IBP (Theses: water relations of alpine plants)
- 1977-1980 coworker of Austrian MAB alpine program and
cooperative field work with the Acad. Sci of Georgia, Tbilisi, in the central
Caucasus (together with A. Cernusca)
- 1980-1981 Postdoctoral fellow, Research School of Biological
Sciences, Australian National University (RSBS-ANU) Canberra, with field work
on stomatal diffusion, leaf morphology and plant nutrition in the Australian
Snowy Mts, New Zealand and New Guinea.
- 1982-1989 Senior lecturer University of Innsbruck (1982

- 1982-1988 Various research projects on alpine and forest
ecology in Austria, Sweden, Argentina, Venezuela and USA.
