"It is good for Brandenburg's development that we have been able to recruit proven experts from science and business as well as a youth representative to the advisory board. Sustainability is an important topic for the future of our state and therefore a significant core of Brandenburg's state policy," said Brandenburg's Minister President Dietmar Woidke in a press release. "The members of the advisory board bring very different perspectives to the topic of sustainability. This is very valuable for a broad discourse. I look forward to an exciting and constructive collaboration."

In addition to Edenhofer, the board includes Ortwin Renn (Director of the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies, chair), Gesine Grande (President of the Brandenburg University of Technology), Uta Steinhardt (Professor at the Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development), Rüdiger Kuhn (CEO of CEMEX Germany) and Silke Hansen (board spokeswoman of Landesjugendring Brandenburg e.V.). The term of office of the advisory board, which is supported by a coordination office based in the state chancellery, runs until the end of the legislative period in 2024.
