The three day interactive online training on climate data analysis and modelling was organized from the 27th to the 29th of October. The main goal of the workshop was to give an introduction to climate modelling, climate data and to present different tools and methods for formatting, analysis and visualisation.
Participants included representatives from all Central Asian countries delegated from national Hydrometeorological services, scientific institutes, national universities and NGOs.
The workshop combined practical exercises and lectures. During lectures, an introduction to climate modelling, an overview of different open data sources and tools were presented. The practical application mainly focused on an introduction to Python and its practical usage. To enable the participants to follow the course, the instructions for the installation of the needed tools and software were distributed prior to the course. The theoretical lectures and practical exercises were held by Dr. Iulii Didovets, Dr. Bijan Fallah and Dr. Anastasia Lobanova.
