The purpose of the visit was to exchange information and engage in dialogue on key climate issues. Leading scientists from the institute presented current research results and discussed their relevance for Berlin's climate policy. The exchange covered topics tailored to Berlin's greenhouse gas reduction and adaptation, but also the role of participation:

All participants emphasised the importance of close cooperation between science and politics for effective climate protection policy. The visitors from the Berlin Senate Department for Mobility, Transport, Climate Protection and the Environment expressed their sincere thanks for the exchange and were open to continuing it. The institute's researchers offered their ongoing support in developing evidence-based climate strategies.
