05/31/2011 – The “Smartest Night of the Year” took place for the 11th time this year and attracted a lot of visitors this weekend. Next to scientific talks and guided tours, the “little climate princess”, a play for children, found great approval.
The PIK had a whole range of topics and activities for visitors of all ages on the agenda. Talks with subjects as different as “Why is earth warming too much?” for children or “Who owns the atmosphere?” were very well received. Apart from the many presentations and experiments, visitors were led through the “weather factory” and the high performance computer, listened to music and readings in the “cupola of culture” or demonstrated their ability to save the climate with the board game “Keep Cool”. A special eye-catcher was the play “The little climate princess” that playfully picked up questions on climate change and romped around the premises with a bunch of kids.
