The prime objective of the event was to disseminate output from research projects that are led by the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) and focus on Mongolia. The CashEval project, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Germany, and the Auswärtiges Amt (Federal Foreign Office) Germany has been implemented by PIK in cooperation with People in Need Mongolia and the National Statistics Office of Mongolia. The ADAPT project, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Germany, has been implemented by PIK in cooperation with the National Statistics Office of Mongolia.
A wide range of national and international policy stakeholders working toward disaster response and protecting rural livelihoods attended the workshop and jointly discussed project findings and avenues for future research. Also, several media representatives, including five national television stations, interviewed representatives from the project partners and reported on the workshop.
