The pupils from Berlin and Brandenburg explored the Albert Einstein science park by means of a quiz, visited the “weather factory”, PIK’s education and information centre on weather and climate, and put their abilities as diplomats to the test in a simulated climate conference. Lively discussions and interactive exchange with young scientists Ronja Reese and Lena Boysen of PIK’s research domain Earth System Analysis provided insights into the everyday working life of a scientist.
Girls’ Day was initiated by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research in 2001. The event's aim is to inspire young girls to learn about occupational perspectives. PIK contributes to Girls’ Day every year by inviting pupils to explore possible career choices at the institute.
