05/26/2023 - From hydrogen to the EU climate goals, from moorland protection to the animal welfare tax: researchers from the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) were represented across all research areas with numerous topics at "Leibniz in the Bundestag". With this political format, the Leibniz Association annually offers members of the German Bundestag one-on-one discussions with scientists.
This year, the approximately 45-minute discussions took place partly virtually, partly in the offices of the MPs. PIK was able to record 12 bookings with MPs from all parliamentary groups, ranging from topics such as electricity market design, e-fuels, the ban on new combustion engine registrations, inflation and tax reform to biodiversity. A total of 270 individual discussions were arranged at "Leibniz in the Bundestag" this year across all institutes of the Leibniz Association.
