On 3 July 2024, Carbon Gap hosted an event together with the Potsdam Institute for Climate
Impact Research (PIK) in Brussels, Belgium. The event was a closed-door session on
pathways for carbon dioxide removal in the European Green Deal. The event involved
around thirty policymakers, industry and civil society representatives, and academics
discussing how to best integrate carbon dioxide removal (CDR) in EU climate mitigation
efforts.
